2008 Richmond SunTrust Marathon is this Saturday
The 2008 Richmond SunTrust Marathon will pass through the area on Saturday, Nov. 15 from about 9AM to 11AM. The race route comes east along Forest Hill Avenue, and a special “Party Zone” will be held at the CVS at the corner of Forest Hill Avenue and Westover Hills Boulevard (mile 12.9).
Forest Hill Ave. westbound from Roanoke St. to W. 47th St. will be closed from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Police will be directing traffic along Forest Hill Avenue and on 42nd Street, which will help with traffic flow, but neighbors may want to seek alternative routes for entering and exiting Westover Hills during the marathon.
Yes, the South of the James Farmers’ Market will be open that day! Visitors to the market are encouraged to either walk, or use New Kent Ave. or Riverside Drive if traveling by car.

Last year at the “party zone” there was a terrible mess left, with water bottles, cups, etc…I hope that this year, folks will be responsible and pick up trash before abandoning the site. What a travesty to run in the light of health and leave behind an unhealthy place.
