Is one blog - one person the only option?

Check out Greater Fulton News for a more open take. There is an administrator to keep everything running, but anyone in the community can register and post. There are 4 or 5 folks that contribute and the site is starting to gain traction.

a collective would be nice but it would have to be designed well to keep spammers at bay. maybe a craigslist type of board where suspect articles can be flagged? a registration process might also be necessary?

sometimes i wish i was more technologically inclined/motivated, but i can barely be budged to hit the shift key to capitalize!

Across the river, we need a blog for Byrd Park, Randolph and Maymont. However, I don't think any one person wants to take it on themselves. And they shouldn't have to if it's going to be representative of the community. So, what's the solution? A collective with publishing privileges? An open publishing format with a collective editing out stuff that isn't appropriate? Is one blog - one person the only option?

Can I run it from Iraq? I miss my home and the Dog Park. Will make being away from Richmond a little easier. Seriously, how much time we talking? I might have married someone who would be good at it!
